Verse 1

I dreaCmed that the great judgment mornFing
Had dawCned, and the trumpet had bloGwn;
I dreaCmed that the nations had gathFered
To judgCment befGore the white thrCone;
From the thrCone came a bright shining anFgel,
And stoCod on the land and the sGea,
And swCore with his hand raised to heaFven,
That tiCme was no lonGger to bCe
Chorus
And CO, what a weeping and wailFing,
As the loCst were told of their faGte;
They crCied for the rocks and the mounFtains,
They praCyed, but their praGyers were too laCte

The riCch man was there, but his monFey
Had melCted and vanished awGay;
A pauCper he stood in the judgFment,
His deCbts were too heGavy to pCay;
The greCat man was there, but his greatFness,
When deaCth came, was left far behGind
The anCgel that opened the recoFrds,
Not a traCce of his greaGtness could fiCnd

The wiCdow was there with the orphFans,
God heaCrd and remembered their criGes;
No sorCrow in heaven foreFver,
God wipCed all the teaGrs from their eyCes;
The gambCler was there and the drunFkard,
And the maCn that had sold them the driGnk,
With the peoCple who gave him the liceFnse,
TogeCther in heGll they did siCnk

The moCral man came to the judgmFent,
But his seClf-righteous rags would do nGot;
The mCen who had crucified JesFus
Had pasCsed off as moGral men tCoo;
The soCul that had put off salvFation,
“Not toniCght; I'll get saved by and bGy,
No tiCme now to think of reliFgion!”
At laCst they had fouGnd time to diCe
